Simple morning oats

Oatmeal is one of my newfound favorite breakfasts. It has become such a trend now and I am loving it! There are so many ways to customize the base, but this recipe is my simplest go-to recipe. When I have more ingredients on hand I like to spice it up, but when I am in a rush or just can't be bothered this recipe comes in handy. This time, I used steel-cut oats, but rolled oats work just as well, if not better!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup oats

  • 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk

  • Dash of vanilla bean paste

  • Dash of salt

  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds (chia, hemp, flax)

  • Heavy dash of cinnamon

  • Frozen mixed berries

  • Almond and Walnut mix

  • Almond butter

  • Local honey

Method:

  1. Combine the oats, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and seeds

  2. Place on the stovetop on medium heat, until most of the liquid is absorbed

  3. When the oats are almost done, add the frozen berries so that they soften a bit

  4. Spoon the oats into a bowl and top with nuts, almond butter, and honey
