Cranberry & Brie Appetizer

Serves: 8-10

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 10-12 basil leaves

  • 2/3 cup cranberry sauce

  • 2/3 of a brie round

  • 1 egg

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F

  2. Put down a large sheet of parchment paper on the counter and roll out your puff pastry until thin.

  3. Place a small-medium bowl in the middle of the puff pastry and lightly press down to make a mark. In the center of the circle, make 4 cuts (like cutting a pizza into 8 pieces)

  4. Around the circle, make a 2-inch thick circle of cranberry sauce.

  5. Layer slices of brie cheese around the circle on top of the cranberry sauce. Top each piece of cheese with a leaf of basil.

  6. Fold a piece of puff pastry from the center over your layered mixture. Connect the outside layer of puff pastry to this and repeat around the circle.

  7. Brush the wreath shape with your one egg, whisked.

  8. Place the parchment paper on a baking tray and bake for 25 minutes until golden.

  9. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, slice, and enjoy.
